Class 3 Reading Response

This week's readings really focused on Web 2.0 and how the internet has really gone through a new phase in terms of how the internet is being used. The internet is seen as being a live, living tool, that allows consumers and users to "do" things on the web. It really is a place for experiementation for all types of users, and even those that aren't as web savvy are able to make a positive impact on the web and contribute to what it is now and what the web will become in the future.

Flickr and Myspace are two programs that were created by couples that in this new web 2.0 phase have been able to capitalize on. These websites and there are plenty more, are really aimed at pleasing internet users and what they are interested in. All of these new web 2.0 sites, are for the most part free, and they vary from photography sites to social networking. The same goes for social bookmarking sites like del.icio.us, which has allowed internet users to keep an organized track of useful websites to share with outhers and to beable to go to any computer and beable to have those sites at one's fingertips.

Basically, the internet is becoming more of a living space, where everyone is able to contribute and benefit from. With all these changes and new sites, does bring the concern with security and reliability. However, one shouldn't be scared to explore and experiment the internet as it is today. It definitely isn't what it was ten years ago. As a society, we need to keep up with the changes, as they are changing by the minute. I am an examle.
